Massachusetts State Representatives Pat Haddad and Carole Fiola Endorse Jake Auchincloss for Congress
FALL RIVER – Jake Auchincloss today secured two new endorsements from Massachusetts State Representatives in the South Coast, adding to his widespread, cross-district support. Representatives Pat Haddad and Carole Fiola have endorsed Jake Auchincloss for the 4th Congressional seat.
“In the Marines, in business, and in local government, Jake has been a leader. And in this moment, Jake is the leader we need,” said Rep. Pat Haddad, Speaker Pro Tempore of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing Dighton, Somerset, Swansea, and Taunton. “From clean energy to healthcare to jobs, Jake will deliver results for our constituents. I look forward to partnering with him as our next member of Congress.”
Rep. Carole Fiola, representing Fall River and Freetown, also emphasized Jake’s leadership on issues of economic recovery and jobs, adding: “Jake is focused on jobs — good jobs. He’s the partner I want in Congress to ensure Fall River and the South Coast comes out of this recession stronger than ever. Jake has gotten results in the military, in business, and in local government, and together we’ll get results for our constituents.”
State Representative Jon Santiago commented, stating: “Rep. Haddad and Rep. Fiola are tremendously respected in the State House and in their districts. These endorsements show major momentum — especially with his fundraising lead, union backing, and strong base in Newton.”
Boston philanthropist Jack Connors weighed in, saying: “This is a massive boost for Auchincloss. With Haddad as the highest ranking woman in the House, and Fiola a longtime, influential representative for her Fall River and Freetown constituents, Jake has picked up frontrunner support in the South Coast.”
These endorsements solidify Auchincloss’ South Coast support, following his endorsement from Rep. Paul Schmid of Westport last month. Auchincloss has earned endorsements from 40+ Newton elected officials and community leaders, and was the first candidate in MA-04 to earn a labor endorsement (NAGE: National Association of Government Employees). Since, Auchincloss has earned endorsements from both Ironworkers 7 in Greater Boston and IBEW 223 in Southeastern Massachusetts. Auchincloss has also been endorsed by VoteVets, the largest group of progressive veterans in America.
