Jake Auchincloss for Congress Releases New TV Ad in Boston: “Lead in Crisis”
BOSTON – Today, Jake Auchincloss for Congress announced the first substantial Boston television buy of the race — a $381,000 broadcast and cable buy. The campaign will run a 30-second spot called “Lead in Crisis,” hitting TV screens Wednesday morning and running until August 9.
“Lead in Crisis” highlights Auchincloss’ experience in the Marines, demonstrating his unique ability to fight back against twin crises of COVID-19 and spiking gun sales and mass shootings.
Auchincloss has prioritized gun safety since the start of his campaign, releasing the most comprehensive gun safety plan of the field early in the year. His plan, titled “Putting An End To Gun Violence In America,” calls for bold, progressive action to be taken to combat gun violence at a national level. Auchincloss draws on his experience as a Marine in the fight against gun violence, stating: “As a Marine officer, I slept, ate, trained, and patrolled with an assault weapon for four years — such weapons are not the ‘arms’ that our Founders had in mind when they passed the Second Amendment 229 years ago.” Auchincloss is a Moms Demand Action 2020 Gun Sense Candidate.
Earlier this month, Auchincloss was the first candidate in the race to go on the air with a campaign TV ad. He has earned the support of 50+ elected officials and community leaders across the Massachusetts Fourth, including State Representatives Pat Haddad (Speaker Pro Tempore of the House), Carole Fiola, and Paul Schmid. Auchincloss leads the pack in fundraising, finishing out Q2 with the most cash on hand of all candidates in the race. Auchincloss has solidified his union support with the first union endorsement in the field from NAGE (National Association of Government Employees), followed by endorsements from Ironworkers 7, IBEW 223, and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4.
